Wednesday Class (10 at 2) - Teen Life Ministries By Paul Evans and Al Millergren www.TeenLifeMinistries.com =================================== We just got back from our staff retreat. Youth Ministry Monday MAXimizer (10 at 5) -   Al and I are spending the next 2.5 days on a church staff retreat.
About once a year we get away as a team to refocus and refresh. We ALL need that. Our youth groups need retreats. Our leadership teams need retreats. Our families need retreats. Even Jesus needed retreats.

Jesus' Pattern (10 at 5) -   Luke 6: 12One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to
pray, and spent the night praying to God. 13When morning came, he
called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also
designated apostles: Mark 1: 35Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus
got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he
prayed.

bless you in all your endeavors as you advance the Kingdom of God.

Daniel's Secret to Staying Strong (01 at 1) - Last time we talked about Joshua's source of strength. This one relates to Daniel... "Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he
went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward
Jerusalem.

Joshua's Secret Strength (01 at 1) - Why were Joshua and Caleb so bold? Why did they stand firm against the other ten who spied out the
promised land with them? I've got no clue about Caleb, but the Word gives us a hint about
Joshua... "Joshua son of Nun, who had been Moses' aide since youth..." Numbers
11:28 Moses' example impacted Joshua.

Footgear for Jesus - May 24, 2004 (11 at 12) -   Tip of the Week Before meeting: Gather up various shoes and print out sheets of explanation for each.

Have youth look up and read the following verses: Micah 6:8, Ephesians 6:14&15, 1 John 1:5-7, John 8:12, Psalms 89:15, Isaiah 40:29-31, 2 John:4-6 Each of these scriptures has something in common, can anyone tell me what it is?

Seven Sayings - May 18, 2004 (11 at 12) - The gospels record seven last statements that Jesus made on the cross. Each one has significance for believers today. Each one gives greater insight into the mind and the suffering of Christ.Begin the worship time with seven lit candles.Turn out the lights in the room and introduce the meaning of the worship time.Invite the worshippers to participate in the scene of the crucifixion.Have seven members of the group read the sayings at the appropriate times. The order could be:
1.Read the saying.

Tip of the Week - June 14 (11 at 12) -   Since Summer is in full swing it's not a bad time to remind the teens about modesty. Your "dress for Jesus" speech or handout should help teens see the ways their wardrobe (or lack thereof) impacts those around them. Last year at camp a counselor stood and asked the teen boys to raise their hands if the way the girls were dressing had created lustful thoughts they otherwise wouldn't have thought.

Tip of the Week - June 28 (11 at 12) -   Our youth group has three mission trips this summer. You probably have at least one yourself. Here are some things to remember... 1. Know the cultural differences. Don't hurt your influence by being insensitive to the lifestyle of the people.

May 31, 2004 (11 at 12) - Well, the teens are out of school and another exhausting summer begins for those in youth work. First, be watching for massive spiritual maturity this summer. The day in and day out details can be overwhelming and often overshadow the spiritual strides being made.

Tip of the Week - June 7 (11 at 12) -   The response to our asking for prayer requests for your ministry has been incredible. We were not able to respond to everyone personally, but we are praying for you daily! Our church is in the middle of VBS this week.

Tip of the Week - August 8 (11 at 12) -   Back to school.   It's hard to believe that it's time for the teens to return to the classroom (for those not in year around school anyway).   Now is the time to focus on how to help teens connect with their friends and lead them to Christ.   1.

Tip of the Week - July 12 (11 at 12) -   The MAXimizer just crossed 20,000 subscribers. We want to thank you for the positive emails, prayer requests, and question you have sent over the past two years. Thanks for your dedication to teens in the kingdom! Have a BLESSED week! Paul & Al P.S.

Notes from Al & Paul Discipline Thanks for the great feedback for disciplining teens.

Tip of the Week - July 19 (11 at 12) -   Saturday night our congregation hosted Integrity Music artist Don Moen. What an awesome night of praise and worship! It also served as a time of community and unity as believers from throughout our area came.

Tip of the Week - July 26 (11 at 12) -   Last week we talked about reaching out and building unity with others ministries in your area. However, sometimes you reach out and they pull back. Why does this happen? 1. Jealousy or fear.

Tip of the Week - August 2 (11 at 12) -   Last night we had a service focusing on the mission trips taken by our church family this year. If your fellowship is like ours, then the title "Mission Report Night" can keep the flock away in droves (or is it herds?).

Tip of the Week - July 5 (11 at 12) -   Spider-Man 2 is now at $180 million. Not bad for a fantasy which most in your group has seen by now if they're not out of the country. We love to be entertained -and Spidey-2 is entertaining - but there's a huge gulf between entertainment and life change.
