God's Will - Part 1
No doubt you have several teens a year
who want to know their purpose. "What is God's will for my life?"
Over the next few weeks we'll look at that question.
People what to know what they can't
see, while ignoring what they can see. Let's look at what is seen
first.
I Thessalonians 5:16-18. Be joyful
always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this
is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
What is God's will? Be joyful
always. No whining, complaining, or victim mentality is allowed.
In John 16:22 Jesus said that his
resurrection would make it impossible for our joy to be stolen. Our
security in Christ fuels our joy. Yet, there are many
Christians who are not filled with joy although this is God's will
for them.
Give this answer to a believer
searching for purpose and it will be rejected. They want something
ethereal or complex. A burning bush or a soft whisper. But God knows
if they don't have joy now, they won't have it when a specific
purpose is revealed.
The Joy Formula:: Salvation =
Joy. If that doesn't give us purpose nothing else will either.
Next week - pray all the time.
