At church we are studying aspects of leadership and responsibility.
One of the focus passages has been Acts 6:3...

"Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full
of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to
them"

The requirements for the responsibility: men full of the Spirit
and wisdom. Get this - that was a requirement to distribute food!
Or as the Twelve put it... "wait tables."

Imagine going out to eat and saying, "I'd like the waiter to be
filled with the Spirit and with wisdom." How would that go over?

Here's the challenge to us...

First, let's continually pray that the Lord fills us with those two
powerhouses.

Second, let's ask the Lord to raise up youth leaders, volunteers
and teenagers who are filled with the Spirit and with wisdom.

Let's raise the standard. If that's the level required to wait
tables certainly we should be expecting more in our group as well!
