Sometimes it takes hardships to help us appreciate how blessed we are. No doubt that your youth travels this summer will bring their share of church bus breakdowns and teens caught with contraband items.

However, most of the time the van runs well and most of the teens remain focused on God. Don't allow Satan to use a couple of bad episodes to soil your attitude. Stay strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

Tip of the Week

Use the mail a lot. Send birthday cards and personal, affirming notes to each of your young people. Send postcards and announcements on a regular basis.

In the age of email and instant messaging a real piece of paper through the postal system is a treasure!

1. Personalize it. Write a brief note with your own hand.

2. Use stamps. Nothing says, "You're just a number" like metered mail.

3. Hand address. Sure labels are convenient, but what kind of mail do you open or read first?
