01 :: David and Goliath
======================================
One of our friends brought a special gift from the holy land.
5 stones form the same stream where David got his stones.
The gift made me immediately turn to 1 Samuel 17 to the account of
David and Goliath.
There's one point that keeps hitting me every time I read the story...
God never told David to kill Goliath specifically.
David KNEW God's honor was at take. He knew the Philistine was
shaming Israel and defying the Lord. He knew it was the right thing
to do.
There are times to "wait on a word from the Lord" and there are
times to simply act.
Most of the time it's the later. Do you think believers are often
quick to pray and wait and slow to act on what they know is right?
God has made so many of his desires plain and clear. Too many times
we want that special and unique leading and we ignore the obvious.
Challenge your leaders and teens this week to be faithful to ACT,
while they wait on specific instruction in other areas.
